This project was the design of 6–miles of trail extending from Trafford Borough to Murrysville in Allegheny County and Westmoreland Counties. The federally funding project involved the redesign of the Turtle Creek Railroad into a shared–use trail system including engineering services and permitting for the trail and two trailheads. Tasks were completed for drainage design, erosion control permitting, highway occupancy permits from PennDOT and Allegheny County, environmental permitting, bridge rehabilitation design for two railroad structures, and construction document production.
Mr. Genter served as Project Manager, responsible for leading the multi–disciplinary team comprised of landscape architects, civil engineers, traffic engineers, structural engineers, and land surveyors to complete the project. This project was performed under the review of Mr. Malcolm Sias, Director of Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation; and multiple municipalities– Trafford, Monroeville, Penn and Murrysville; and PennDOT Engineering District 12–0.
