Mackin conducted traffic and accident studies, as well as environmental investigations for the 4-mile safety and betterment upgrade to PA Route 61 in northern Berks County. This high-accident, heavily-congested roadway passes through several historic areas, active farmland, and rapid commercial/residential development. Mackin’s focus was to improve safety and traffic flow, control access, and improve and signalize intersections while minimizing environmental and land use impacts.
