This project is the design of the replacement of an existing 17-span viaduct carrying S.R. 0130 over Turtle Creek and the Norfolk Southern
Railroad with a new 9 span P/S concrete structure. Pier foundations consisted of single shaft caissons, supporting single shaft circular
piers topped with hammerheads. This project includes hydrologic and hydraulic studies, removal of hazardous materials, environmental
studies and clearances, extensive utility relocations and public involvement, traffic analysis and signalization, intersection and approach
realignment, and preliminary and final roadway and structure design of an 8 span prestressed concrete bridge and single span prestressed
concrete bridge over the Norfolk Southern. The project included extensive utility coordination, and new ADA ramps, sidewalks, and
crosswalks. Significant coordination was required on this project since the detour traverses two PennDOT Districts.
