New Stanton Borough, in partnership with Westmoreland County, hired Mackin to facilitate an update to their previous Comprehensive Plan. The project allowed the Borough to proactively address development pressure and traffic pattern changes expected as part of the I-70 interchange replacement project, as well as other changes occurring in the Borough. The project included a variety of methods to gather public input from the beginning to the end of the planning process. Methods included: a project website, public surveys, attendance at community events (such as the local fish fry and the annual Borough picnic), public meetings, stakeholder outreach and focus group meetings.
