Mackin was retained by PennDOT District 11-0 to provide the periodic NBIS inspection and complete rating of 50 major state bridges between the periods of 2012 – 2017. The project included numerous river crossings, two tunnels, and other major structures. Services included inspection (including core element inspections); preparation of reports including I-forms, photographs, preparation of inspection sketches and section loss sketches; coordination with the District, rigging contractors, and railroad companies. Analyses were performed for a portion of the structures, including; truss, steel arches, concrete arches, steel girders, steel multi beams, curved girders, curved box girders, truss and arch floor systems, and steel bents.
