Mackin designed Pittsburgh Area’s first Cycle Track (a separated two-way bicycle lane) located along the Steel Valley Section of the Great Allegheny Passage Trail. The 3,000 feet long cycle track is located in Munhall Borough, along East Waterfront Drive, east of the Homestead Waterfront shops. Pennsylvania’s first cycle track was constructed in Connellsville; Mackin completed the second cycle track in the town of Greensboro and now the third in Munhall Borough. The completion of the Munhall Cycle Track allows bicyclists and pedestrians to safely commute to and from work; and to tour the Great Allegheny Passage Trail – connecting the City of Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C.
