Mackin has been working with the Mine Safety Appliances Company for more than 25 years as their engineer, designer and landscape architect of record. Our services have included all aspects of design, engineering and professional consultation for the development of the 326-acre corporate world headquarters campus at Cranberry Woods.
This multi-phased project included master planning, infrastructure design, land development, and roadway engineering. The project strategically placed 1.6 million square feet of corporate office space among a heavily-wooded setting while preserving the beauty of the existing lakes, forest and natural habitat.
Our services included landscape architectural design and master planning; field survey; traffic engineering; utility infrastructure engineering; site development; landscaping; construction inspection; storm water; and trail design. Mackin also created protective covenants to control each site’s development and was an administrative partner during the site plan approval process.
Today the campus is home for more than 8,000 employees, world headquarters for both MSA and Westinghouse Corporation, and includes 3-miles of trails, 2 lakes, ¼ mile of forested buffer road, Butler County’s first roadway roundabout, and habitat supporting deer, turkey and waterfowl.
