The Township hired Mackin to develop a park and recreation plan that would assist the community in developing priorities for future park and recreation facilities and programs.
Public outreach included various local stakeholders, the general public as well as the Township’s Parks Board. The public response helped to ensure that the recommendations being developed were supported by the community as a whole.
Mackin’s landscape architects provided conceptual renderings for various park improvements as well as identified bicycle and pedestrian connections that connect neighborhoods and parks. Other recommendations included a frisbee golf course, nature play area, community gardens, and outdoor learning spaces at the local library.
The plan focused on:
- Improving the overall administration of parks and recreation
- Provide parks and recreation that meet the needs of a growing community
- Provide high quality programs for people of all ages
- Identify projects for new park facilities
