PUBLIC MEETING #2

The second public meeting was held on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Rose Barn in North Park. The purpose of the meeting was to obtain public input on the project to date and the draft management strategies that have been developed. As the pathway to implementation of project recommendations, the management strategies are one of the most important results of the project. With 62 attendees, we received valuable input on the management strategies, which will incorporated into the Draft and Final Versions of the Plan.

PUBLIC MEETING #1

The first two public meetings for the Pine Creek Watershed Conservation Plan were held on June 3 rd and 4 th at the Shaler Municipal Building and the Rose Barn at North Park, respectively. The purpose of these meetings was to obtain input from the public about protections, improvements, and their future vision for natural resources (land, water, and biological), recreational resources (parks, trails, open space, creek access, etc.), and cultural resources (historical and archaeological sites, and education and watershed awareness). We received insightful and valuable information during the meetings; however, we are looking for additional input and participation from the public throughout the plan development process.

Project status updates will be posted to the project website as the project progresses, so please check back! The next public meeting is anticipated for March 2010 to obtain public feedback on the resource area objectives and preliminary implementation strategies of the draft plan. The final plan is anticipated for June 2010.
